"The civilian volunteer component of the United States Coast Guard"

Serving Avalon, Sea Isle City, Stone Harbor, the Wildwoods and their shore side communities

“From the Bay to the Sea you can count on 83!”

A message from our Commander

Welcome to the web site of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 83 located in Wildwood, NJ. Most of our members live in the Wildwood’s and surrounding communities, but some members actually live out of state. One thing is true, we all work for the same goal, to support the United States Coast Guard’s mission to protect the US waters, and make Recreational Boating Safer for everyone on the water!

As members of the Coast Guard Auxiliary, you can find us doing just about every job our counter parts in the Active Duty Coast Guard do, with the exception of Law Enforcement. Some of our more well-known jobs are courtesy Vessel Safety Checks, Marine Dealer Visits, Teaching Boating Safety Classes, Safety & Regatta Patrols, and Small Boat training patrols with Active Duty Boat Crews.

As Coast Guard volunteers, Auxiliarist may take many of the same courses and training that is available to Active Duty and Reserve Coast Guard men and women, with no charge for tuition or books. All you need is the interest, dedication, and willingness to give some of your time. There are no limits to the amount of time you have to give to the Auxiliary, It’s your time to donate, whatever the amount, we are always grateful!

Finally, we enjoy Fellowship and fun at a variety of shore-side activities. There’s something for everyone in the Coast Guard Auxiliary, and the minimum age to join is 17 ! Please enjoy the rest of our web site, and if you’re interested in learning more about us, please come to one of our meetings. Flotilla 08-03 meets on the 3rd Tuesday of the month at 7:00PM in the North Wildwood Recreation Center, located at 10th & Central Aves, North Wildwood, NJ.

I look forward to seeing you there!
